Ignited by Truth Conference 2011

Gee guys,
I sure wish I had been able to get pictures of all the amazing art work that was created on Sat but I was so busy that I forgot to pull out my camera. I only managed to get a few pictures. If anyone out there happens to have a few pictures they would like to contribute to the website. I would be grateful. Get your parents to photo them. or scan them into the computer and I'll post them. This was only a few of the many children that spent time with me drawing on Sat. I had so much fun. What a rewarding day. Loree

The Pencil

A PENCIL MAKER TOLD THE PENCIL 5 IMPORTANT LESSONS JUST BEFORE PUTTING IT IN THE BOX :

1. EVERYTHING YOU DO WILL ALWAYS LEAVE A MARK .

2. YOU CAN ALWAYS CORRECT THE MISTAKES YOU MAKE.

3. WHAT IS IMPORTANT IS WHAT IS INSIDE OF YOU.

4. IN LIFE , YOU WILL UNDERGO PAINFUL SHARPENING, WHICH WILL ONLY MAKE YOU BETTER.

5. TO BE THE BEST PENCIL, YOU MUST ALLOW YOURSELF TO BE HELD AND GUIDED BY THE HAND THAT HOLDS YOU.

We all need to be constantly sharpened. This parable may encourage you to know that you are a special person, with unique God-given talents and abilities. Only you can fulfill the purpose which you were born to accomplish. Never allow yourself to get discouraged and think that your life is insignificant and cannot be changed and, like the pencil, always remember that the most important part of who you are, is what's inside of you.

I have a passion for drawing and at the core of that passion is a love for God and a strong desire to please Him. I find drawing to be very therapeutic and healing. I love the satisfaction I get out of seeing something beautiful come from my own hands in such a short time and even more so seeing the joy it brings to others when you give it away.
So my advice to anyone who enjoys picking up their pencil, would be to practice alot, ask God to bring out the Artist in you and then give your time and talent to Him. You will be amazed at how he uses it and rewards you.

As some of you have noticed I am beginning to do some gentle critiquing on your drawings in the comment boxes. Please do not be offended by anything I say. I am so proud of all of you for trying so hard. I know that all of you will become very talented Artist if you continue to practice. Critiquing others and being critiqued is a great way to improve your skills. So you have to have thick skin and learn to take it like a grain of salt. A Critique is simply another Artist opinion and just that. So if it helps you to improve your work then use it. If you don't agree with me, that's OK too. You are the Artist and you decide when your picture is done and when you are happy with the outcome. I hope you will find my critiquing comments to be helpful. Always remember that each drawing you do will be better than the last one. Loree Lam
